Editorial & Publication Policies

Editorial Board Policy

Herbert Publications recognizes that a strong editorial board is vital to maintaining quality in our journals. Editorial board members are selected based on their expertise and academic standing. All members are expected to uphold high ethical and publication standards in accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines.

General Guidelines for Editorial Board Members

  • Take responsibility for the overall content of the journal.
  • Contribute to journal development and engage with fellow board members.
  • Communicate updates on policies and guidelines to reviewers and authors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection.
  • Submit at least one manuscript per year and provide constructive, timely feedback on submissions.
  • Promote the journal at academic meetings and within their communities.

Editorial Policy

The Editor-in-Chief and Senior Editors oversee the review process and ensure that decisions are fair, unbiased and based on scientific merit. Editors are responsible for maintaining editorial independence and integrity while adhering to the journal’s scope.

Publication Ethics

The journal follows the ethical principles set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authors must ensure originality, avoid duplicate publication and properly acknowledge sources. Editors and reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and disclose any conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism Check

All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using appropriate software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, fabrication or falsification will be rejected immediately.

Criteria for Publication

Papers should present novel findings, have methodological rigor, and contribute significantly to the field. Reports must be ethically conducted and clearly presented. Manuscripts not meeting these criteria may be rejected.

Manuscript Transfer Agreement

On rare occasions, manuscripts may be transferred to another Herbert Publications journal if the content is better suited there. Authors will be consulted before transfer and may accept or decline.
