Editorial Policies
Herbert Publications recognizes the vitality of an eminent Editorial Board in accomplishing a journal with quality content. Editors are expected to uphold high ethical standards in accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines. The Editorial Board Policy outlines criteria for membership and expectations for all editors.
General Guidelines for Editorial Board Members
- Hold responsibility for the journal content and contribute to its development and management.
- Update reviewers and authors with new policies and guidelines.
- Maintain regular communication with the editorial office and ensure integrity in published work.
- Protect individual data and maintain confidentiality.
- Submit at least one manuscript to the journal each year.
- Provide constructive, fair and timely feedback to authors.
- Promote the journal among academic communities and represent it at meetings and conferences.
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief serves a two-year renewable term and should have 75–100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals with an academic rank above Professor or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
- Guarantee the quality and integrity of the journal’s content and communicate its vision to authors, readers, editorial board members and the publisher.
- Oversee the selection and rotation of editorial board members and the peer-review process.
- Conduct annual meetings, set objectives and assign responsibilities to board members, ensuring timely completion.
- Provide final approval for manuscripts and ensure they are not plagiarized or previously published.
- Support the publisher in handling complaints, appeals and ethical issues.
Senior Editor
A Senior Editor serves a one-year renewable term. They should have 30–50 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and hold an academic rank above Associate Professor or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Editor-in-Chief in manuscript evaluation and decision-making.
- Participate in the peer-review process and ensure the quality of published articles.
- Encourage submission of high-quality papers and provide constructive feedback.
- Help conduct meetings, set objectives and update policies.
- Support the Editor-in-Chief in handling ethical issues, complaints and appeals.
Associate Editor
An Associate Editor serves a one-year renewable term. They should have 15–20 publications and an academic rank above Assistant Professor or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Editor and Editor-in-Chief in ensuring the quality of the journal’s content.
- Be familiar with journal policies, author guidelines and review guidelines.
- Participate in peer review and editorial meetings.
- Promote the journal and encourage submissions within their scientific community.
