Aim and Scope
Biochemical Compounds is an international open access, peer‑reviewed journal that publishes high‑quality research and review articles on the chemistry and biology of natural and synthetic compounds. The journal provides a forum for scientists studying the composition, structure and function of biomolecules and their interactions in living systems. Areas of interest include:
- Natural products and secondary metabolites – identification, isolation, synthesis and biological activities of plant, microbial and marine compounds.
- Structure, composition and properties of biomolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids, peptides, proteins and nucleic acids.
- Metabolism and enzymology – biochemical pathways, enzyme mechanisms, regulation, and metabolic engineering.
- Molecular interactions and signaling – ligand‑receptor interactions, molecular recognition, supramolecular chemistry and chemical biology approaches.
- Drug discovery and medicinal chemistry – design and synthesis of bioactive compounds, screening and lead optimization.
- Biotechnological and biochemical engineering – industrial biocatalysis, fermentation processes and production of biomolecules.
- Analytical and computational methods – structural elucidation, spectroscopy, chromatography, mass spectrometry and computational modeling.
The journal welcomes original research articles, reviews, and short communications that advance our understanding of biochemical compounds and their applications in health, agriculture and industry.
