Journal of Psychiatry and Brain Functions is an open access, peer‑reviewed international journal dedicated to publishing significant research on the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of mental health disorders and brain abnormalities. The journal welcomes original research, review articles, case reports and technical advances that contribute to our understanding of psychiatric illness and brain function.

Scope of the journal covers clinical applications and healthcare research of psychiatry based on genetics, neuroscience, pharmacology, epidemiology and pathophysiology. We aim to foster cross‑disciplinary discussions and publish works that advance mental health care.

Subject areas include but are not limited to:

  • Biological, child, adolescent, geriatric and neuropsychiatry
  • Psychiatric diagnoses and interventions
  • Electroconvulsive therapy, antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs
  • Developmental, psychotic, mood, dissociative, anxiety and neurological disorders
  • Schizophrenia, hallucinations, paraphilias, suicidal behaviour and eating disorders
